Semarang-For the umpteenth time, the Mechanical Engineering Alumni Association, Faculty of Engineering, Diponegoro University returned to the Mechanical Engineering Campus. Their return in order to contribute to the name of the Mechanical Engineering Department. Located in the United Tractor lecture room (B204), Tembalang Mechanical Engineering Campus, Friday 20 April 2018, the Head of the Undip Mechanical Engineering Alumni Association, Ir. Suyatno (Pak Mbunjun) accompanied by several lecturers from the Mechanical Engineering Department launched the M2M scholarship. “This is our contribution in helping the younger students of Mechanical Engineering whose parents’ financial condition has not been fortunate, especially in the obligation to pay the Single Tuition Fee (UKT). This is so that there are no students who drop out of college because of their inability to pay UKT, “said the Head of the Undip Mechanical Engineering Alumni.

Furthermore, the Chairperson of the M2M Alumni Scholarship Committee, Ir. M Ulil Azmi said that Undip Mechanical Engineering Alumni were trying to continue to synergize with the Mechanical Engineering Department. The granting of the M2M Alumni Scholarship is carried out in order to relieve students of the Mechanical Engineering Department who really need the payment of a Single Tuition Fee. Mechanical Engineering alumni feel called to be able to contribute by providing scholarships of 50 million rupiah/semester in this first phase for 25 students. The names of the recipient students have gone through a screening conducted by the Alumni Scholarship Management assisted by the Department of Mechanical Engineering and the Mechanical Student Association. Whatever the donors still come from the Alumni of Mechanical Engineering Undip and Lecturers of Mechanical Engineering. The Chairperson of the M2M Alumni Scholarship Management at the end of his speech advised that the scholarship money obtained was really for paying UKT, not for buying consumer goods.

The Department of Mechanical Engineering, represented by Dr. eng. Munadi expressed his deepest appreciation and gratitude to the Mechanical Engineering Alumni who have succeeded in initiating and realizing real contributions to Mechanical Engineering students. Of course, with this scholarship, it will help students of the Mechanical Engineering Department who are struggling financially to reduce their tuition fees and student living costs. (mnd)
